Hello and TGIF! The Novice Gardener, a blog I recently started following, has started a weekly blog party by the name of Fiesta Friday and this will be my first time to take part …what fun! Fiesta Friday is where we share something we make or cook, or places we go to celebrate the fact that it is Friday, a sort of kick off to the weekend festivities.
For my first Fiesta Friday I decided to do a restaurant review on a place I go quite often, Pirates Alley Cafe. It is not always on a Friday and it is mostly a spring/summer type of place, mostly because it is right on the beach. Nonetheless it is a favorite spot of mine and a great place to go after a long week to unwind.
Pirates Alley Café and view of Surfside Beach – Gulf of Mexico from deck
The outdoor eating area overlooks the Gulf of Mexico, you can’t get a better view anywhere on the beach. The food is great, the service is always with a smile and they have a good choice of wine, beer and mixed drinks. I am a usually there for the drinks and appetizers, but they also make a great burger. They also have a Sunday Brunch and live music on the weekends. The prices are reasonable and your food and drinks are usually to you in a reasonable amount of time. In the “Peak Season” or especially on holidays such as Spring Break, Memorial Day weekend and July 4th weekend, you can expect the wait to be longer; but hey, I never mind because you always have that gorgeous view of the gulf of Mexico. Location, location, location! If you would like to extend your stay, they also have an adjoining hotel. It is a wonderful place for a weekend getaway by the seashore and not far from Galveston.
No matter when I visit I always have a good experience and fun time. Would I recommend this place to others? Yes, I most certainly would.
